amélie barnathan

IMG_7498.jpg

amélie barnathan is a franco-italian artist born in 1991 in paris. trained at the royal college of art in london, her unsolemn rituals fresco, very representative of the themes she deals with, received the jerwood drawing prize in 2017. her work has been the subject of several exhibitions, in london and in paris, presented in particular within the framework of the salon ddessin in 2019, the Art Paris fair (Paris 2020, 2021).

there is something unspeakable about amélie barnathan's drawing. with a lively line driven by color, and crossed by fantasies, she tells us stories in which the flowers and here more particularly the roses act as intermediaries. amélie barnathan brings all human emotions to life in her roses and enlivens them through her unique use of color. her red roses are here deliberately chosen, not for their decorative aspect but for their narrative force.
