gaspar camps

gaspar camps i junyent was born in igualada in 1874 died in barcelona in 1942. the work of this spanish painter, illustrator and poster artist is influenced by catalan art nouveau and modernism. after studying fine arts in igualada and barcelona, he stayed in paris where he received lessons from william bouguereau and benjamin constant. his works earned him the nickname "catalan mucha", named after the poster artist alfons mucha. he has had some success as an illustrator. in 1980 he was the subject of an anthological exhibition in igualada. his works are now exhibited in reindeer and at the center  of Toulouse poster.
