born in 1882 in argenteuil and died in 1963 in paris, georges braque distinguished himself as one of the major artists of the first half of the twentieth century. after having taken drawing lessons at the academy humbert, he turned to impressionist and fauvist influences which changed the course of his work. this french painter, sculptor and engraver is known for his research on cubism carried out jointly with pablo picasso. he received various prizes, including that of antonio feltrinelli by the academy of fine arts in 1959. the major consecration of his work is the retrospective exhibition that the louvre museum  realized  in 1961, making him the first artist to  be exposed to it during his lifetime.

too often summarized in his cubist period, painted dozens of bouquets, marked by blue, yellow, or even shades of white on a dark background, among which we find this bouquet with so soft powdery pink. the shape of the bouquet emerges from this dark background, in a sort of levitation which gradually gives way to pink. ⁣
