born in angoulême in 1878 and died in paris in 1965, lucie valore is a french painter, lithographer and engraver. her real name lucie veau, she takes courses at the comédie-française. it was during her third marriage to the painter maurice utrillo that she was introduced to painting. she paints portraits, landscapes and still lifes in a naive style. she founded the maurice-utrillo association and joined a documentation center on the work of her husband, suzanne valadon, andré utter, as well as her own. it was the subject of various exhibitions in France in the middle of the twentieth century and appeared in the collections of the national museum of modern art in paris.

​lucie valore utrillo has painted a lot of bouquets of flowers, daisies, dahlias, camellias, each more colorful than the next. she was indeed a colorful character, a woman of character, who herself took care of the sale of her own paintings. We know in fact that with each painting by maurice utrillo, lucie valore utrillo sold one of her own to the person concerned, as the words of the lithographer fernand mourlot attest to: "  if you wanted to buy an utrillo, you also had to buy a lucie valore  "(In."  engraved in my memory, 1979) .⁣
