at the start, there is this mad love for flowers, and this evidence that the world needs beauty, art.
quand les fleurs nous sauvent is this somewhat improbable bet of two women in love with flowers and art, muriel fagnoni and julia gai, who decide to share their passion by opening the doors of an ephemeral place dedicated to art x flowers.
along a flowery path off the beaten track, muriel and julia select artists and objects which touch them, and which will lead them through the ages - from the 19th century to today - and beyond the borders - of the australia to korea via north america, and of course europe.
their emotions are pictorial, photographic, textile or porcelain, as long as the flowers bloom there as they please.
works by more than twenty contemporary artists therefore rub shoulders with old flowers that are far from faded. the flower is a subject, but also a material. the flower is decorative, but also militant, it is delicate but of an indestructible symbolism.
through this journey to the heart of one of the most inspiring artistic themes in history, the evidence of the subject's essentiality became more intense, and more embodied at each meeting with the artists.
on arrival, a vibrant artistic greenhouse in which the fifty friends of one, and the young adults who are friends of the other, will be able to find works adapted to their means (from € 200 to € 15,000) because their shared vision is that art supports a big a like a small one.
finally because they are convinced that galleries should be the most lively and most visited places there is, muriel and julia offer you to experience a "floral sunday" around a brunch made with edible flowers made by fleurivore , followed by conferences on art x flowers by graduates of the louvre school, and pictorial creation workshops organized by artnight.
